2025 Beginner Whitewater Kayak Class
About this event
This comprehensive beginner whitewater kayaking class will include 15 hours of instruction taught by ACA certified instructors from the Eugene River House Outdoor Center. The activities in the class include an evening flatwater session and two full days on the river where you will kayak rapids up to Class II. Besides practicing paddling skills, the class focuses on how to read water, run rapids, safety on the water and general river knowledge. All equipment will be provided, including wetsuits if needed. Choose from hard-shell, sit-on-top or inflatable kayaks. Transportation is provided from the River House to the river.
Dates:
July 24, Thursday, evening flatwater session & orientation.
July 25, Friday, no class.
July 26 and 27, Saturday & Sunday, on the river.

Participants MUST attend the evening flatwater session & orientation the evening of Thursday July 24th which covers safety, proper outfitting, gear selection, etc.
Additional information provided by the Eugene River House Outdoor Center will be sent to participants closer to the event date
Registration cancellations will be accepted until Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at 11:30 PM
Cancellation Policy:
Cancellation fee $5. $145 refund till July 7, 2025 at 11:30 PM. After that date no refund unless vacancy is filled. No refunds for no shows.
