Hazards:
Osprey: Look for this rapid upsteam: Large boulders and huge wood give this rapid a mencing look. Peel out high on river right - no real eddies, just a small rock bar. Scout and portage on right; set safety at the hole if running this drop. Constrictor: From upstream the river funnels into a very narrow slot. The slot creates a rententive hole with a boil line many feet down stream. Escaping from this hole would be very difficult. Eddy out river right; the portage is easy.
Access:
Put in: Take highway 20 to Canyon Creek Road. Follow this road to a bridge ... there is a trail heading down to the river on the near side of the bridge. Take out: Cascadia Park
Gauge:
Paddler gage at the bridge over highway 20 ... or the estatimate on Pat's Page
